Accommodation
There are multiple convenient choices for accommodation in Sogndal that are within walking distance of the confernece venue at Quality Hotel Sogndal. We recommend the following locations.
Quality Hotel Sogndal: This is the official conference venue for BFA 2026. A block of rooms for participants have been reserved and can be booked through this link, while rooms are available. Otherwise, rooms can be booked through the hotel’s main webpage.
Best Western Laegreid Hotell: Located within a few minutes to the conference venue.
Hofslund Fjord Hotel: About 7-8 minutes away from the conference venue.
Transport
Travelling to Sogndal from Bergen is possible via boat. If you are travelling on Sunday, a ferry departs from Bergen at 16.30 and arrives in Sogndal at 21.30. Tickets can be purchased through the ferry operator’s website.
On the way back, we have organized a bus for BFA participants travelling from Sogndal directly to Bergen which departs around 14.00 on Friday. Alternatively, if you are staying an extra day, it is possible to take the ferry back to Bergen, which departs at 07.05 on Saturday, and arrives at 11.50.
It is also possible to reach Sogndal by air. Sogndal airport has flights to Bergen and Oslo, and there is a public bus between the airport and the venue taking about 30 minutes.
